An Educational Attaché,Taiwan paid an official visit to Walailak University


On 2 June 2015, Ms.Jill Lai, an Educational Attaché, Cultural Division, Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Thailand paid an official visit to Walailak University to give a special talk on ‘Introduction to Taiwan Culture and Education in Taiwan’. On this occasion, Dr. Sumate Yamnoon, Acting President of Walailak University gave a warm welcome to Ms. Jill Lai at University Council’s Reception Room, 2nd Floor, Administration Building, Walailak University. Also, present to welcome the guest were Asst. Prof. Dr. Valla Tantayotai, Acting Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aswin Promsopa, Acting Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs, Ajarn Sirikhun Thongsai, a lecturer in the Chinese Department, School of Liberal Arts and International Relations Officers.


After the official welcome, Ms. Jill Lai delivered a talk entitled ‘Introduction to Taiwan Culture and Education in Taiwan’. More than 80 staff and students attended the talk. The speaker offered Taiwan scholarships to Thai students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs in Taiwan. The speaker also had an opportunity to visit University Library and meet with Asst. Prof. Dr. Niyom Kamlangdee, Director of the Southern Science Park Project, who currently works on collaborative research projects with a university in Taiwan, to share and seek kind cooperation for establishing new collaborations between Walailak University and other Taiwanese universities in the near future.
