The 2010 Annual National Agricultural Day Festivity will be conducted during 16-24 July 2010 at Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat under the well selected and meaningful theme of Agriculture for Life Sufficiency Economy Nourishing the World.
Assoc. Professor Dr. Thai Tipsuwannakul President of ÁËÒÇÔ·ÂÒÅÑÂÇÅÑÂÅѡɳìWalailak University revealed that on the 2010 Annual National Agriculture Day Festivity in which Walailak University has been chosen and delegated by the Ministry of Agriculture to proudly host the festive events decisively scheduled to launch during 16-24 July 2010 at Walailak University, Thasala District, Nakhon Si Tahmmarat under the significant theme advocating Agriculture for Life Sufficiency Economy Nourishing the World. Moreover, this festive National Agricultural Celebration has been designed multi-purposefully, with the major aim to publicly throughout the country give recognition and pay homage to His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy philosophy featuring as the main platform of the events, together with other interesting platforms presenting safe and sustainable agriculture and appropriate technology, as well as many others depicting Thailand as a sustainable source of world food production.
To give some brief pictures of the festive, the major activities during 2010 Annual National Agriculture Day will be exhibitions honoring H.M. the King's royal initiatives and pilot projects in agriculture. Ministry of Agriculture will organize exhibitions by and from 18 agencies pertinent to agricultural technology. Walailak University will carry out the open house activities and presentations, including science and technology Excellent Centers, Research Units, academic seminars in agriculture, sufficiency economy, food safety and the AFTA effects on Thai agricultural production.
Many demonstration plots and displays are in abundance, such as demonstration paddy plots. Agricultural demonstration plots, agricultural products contest in crops, fruit plants, flowers, fishery and goat. There will be knowledge providing booths boosting local wisdom. Variety of exhibitions of favorite agricultural products from every region and corner of Thailand will be totally and fully displayed for learning, viewing and purchasing sufficiently throughout the 9-day festivity, including the arts and culture shows, performances and artifacts. Visitors of all ages to visit this festive will surely enjoy the beautiful shows and joyful activities and have fun and good memory lasting for the life time.
The president reported that in thoroughly preparing the festivity, there have been several meetings with Ministry of Agriculture working on appointing directing and working board committees, details of events, plan and programs of the events and their active preparations. We are fortunate that not only the two parties of the Ministry of Agriculture and Walailak University are hosting this grand event, but also Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administration has concern and involvement to take part as co-host to broadly help contacting other involved public and private agencies. We are working on area zoning seeking sponsorships and supportive activities. In order that the monumental National Agriculture festivity will be robustly and comprehensively celebrated, we will also have the 7th National Goat event to be held in conjunction with the National Agriculture day’s occasion. In all, the event has been well planned and prepared, and the hosting Walailak universities and her partner agencies are very proud to present this grand National Agricultural Festivity on her beautiful campus.
