Program Profile
The program provides preparation for professional nursing practice and gives special emphasis on the development of health promotion skills to prepare the graduates to function effectively in the current health care system. The knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies required for working across settings and health-illness continuum are also important components.

Upon completion of the nursing program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Integrate professional competencies in the nursing roles of provider, designer, manager, and coordinator of care.
  2. Apply knowledge from research findings, nursing science, and related sciences in developing the strategies to promote health and healing in individuals, families, and communities.
  3. Assume ethical and legal responsibility, and accountability in nursing practice and actively participate in ongoing professional development.
  4. Work collaboratively as a team with other health professionals.
  5. Manage the information and technologies appropriate for a diverse and changing socio-cultural context.
  6. Work with the network to integrate local wisdom and universal knowledge through effective communication and maximize the use of resources in creating balanced health.
  7. Be a good citizen with a strong sense of social and moral responsibility to the community.
  8. Play a significant part in maintaining the democratic system of government and live harmoniously in society.

Career and Postgraduate Study Opportunities

Graduates work as general nursing practitioners in government and private hospitals, and health care centers. After some years of experience, they may undertake further studies for master’s and doctoral degrees to become specialists in various areas of nursing scienceand well prepared to be advanced nurse practitioners, administrators, or teaching faculty at university or nursing colleges.
