Kyushu University and Yanagawa High School, Japan, explored academic collaborations with Walailak University



On 24 July 2018, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, Vice-Presidents and Deans welcomed delegates from Kyushu University and Yanagawa High School from Japan at Mokhalan Meeting Room, Walailak University (WU).

This visit led by Dr. Chao Temrak, a recipient of Yanagawa High School license in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Vice-President of Yanagawa High School, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Dr. Masahiro Okamoto, Head of Delegation from Kyushu University, and Mr. Ken Koga, President CEO, and Head of Yanagawa High School.

The objective of the visit was to offer a triple alliance collaboration among Kyushu University, Yanagawa High School, and Walailak University in terms of student mobility programs.

President Thamrongthanyawong mentioned in his welcome speech that he delighted to collaborate with Kyushu University and Yanagawa High School. Kyushu University is the 4th oldest university and considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Walailak University have to learn a lot more from Kyushu University in terms of academic development. The President also stated that WU has a plan to establish a junior high school in the future and may need assistance from Yanagawa High School as a role model of an international school.



Dr. Masahiro Okamoto and Dr. Ken Koga expressed their thankfulness to Walailak University for having an opportunity to visit and a warm hospitality. They are also delighted to set up future concrete collaborative activities with WU.
