Akkhararatchakumari Veterinary College (AVC) along with The Center for Academic Services (CAS), Walailak University joined force to host the Elephant Medicine and Surgery, Best Practices Brainstorming workshop. The workshop was fully sponsored by Elephant Hills CO, LTD. The delegates were 24 elephant veterinarians who are currently treating elephants as a daily basis which were diversified into elephant hospital veterinarians, elephant camp veterinarians, zoo veterinarians, clinical professors for zoo and wildlife medicine, private practitioners who receive elephant cases, PhD students, and an elephant reproduction veterinarian and researcher. The workshop was held from June 4th -6th, 2019 at the pristine accomodations of Elephant Hills : Elephant Park Thailand, Kho Sok, Surat Thani.

The aim of the workshop is to initiate a cloud database system for all the Thai elephant veterinarians to access by means of gaining knowledge and also contributing experiences for other fellow elephant veterinarians and also veterinary student to consider and make use of the content. This workshop was the ignition point for this long-lasting and wide-opening elephant health supporting system. The contents are covering all knowledge, practices, and decision making parts.

The contents will be added and adjusted in real-time basis. Communication channels are open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The system is also allows clinical experience-level knowledge which never before has a place to share in academic realm. With endorsement sub-system added, the rare experiences will be reviewed and endorse then making them more determined for the user who acquired.

Walailak University and the Elephant Hills were mutually satisfied with the constructive and concrete outcomes of the workshop and had a plan to continue this workshop the next year.
