Prof. Dr. Sittichai Koontongkaew, acting dean of the International College of Dentistry, announced that the committee of the dental council of Thailand has approved the Doctor of Dental Surgery program (International Program) on the 14th of November 2019 by the reason of passing council criteria, as well as for the building and equipment availability. During the 6-year program, students will study the first 2 years at Walailak University and then the remaining 4 years in Bangkok.. For the lecturer to student ratio, the council assigned that it must be 1 lecturer per 6 students. This, too, passed the criteria.

"Our Doctor of Dental Surgery program is an international program. Therefore, every course will be taught in English. Even more, we use a new system called "Digital Dentistry.” Each classroom will be a smart classroom. We support our students to do research since they are in bachelor's degree along with studying abroad in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Currently, the University is cooperating with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Kunming Medical University (KMU). In addition, we are planning to collaborate with other universities in the future." said Prof. Dr. Sittichai Koontongkaew.
