Walailak University participates in the Rectors Forum of Russia and Thailand

 

During 1-5 March 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice-President for Global Engagement and Faculty Development, Walailak University, participated in The First Rectors Forum of Russia and Thailand “Education in Russia and Thailand: Dialogue with the Digital Society” an international virtual event.

The Forum was organized by Russian Union of Rectors and St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), Lomonosov Moscow State University. The aim was to gather the leaders of Russian universities and Thailand to strengthen social relations between the countries, foster academic exchange between the universities, and increase the value of scientific research in both countries. The key topics of the forum were 1) Academic exchanges and international collaboration 2) Distant learning: pros and cons 3) Digital Volunteering 4) Education and Business and 5) Science and Innovations.

The five theme were distributed into several sessions namely Online Exhibition, Opening Ceremony with Students’ Concerts, Negotiations with Partners, Round Table Meeting with Academic exchange, Forum of the Rectors, Strategic session in Education, Business, Science and Innovations, Closing ceremony, and Virtual tour of St. Petersburg.

Walailak University participated in three sessions which were 1) Online Exhibition—from 1-5 March, https://rus-thaiforum.unecon.ru 2) Academic Exchange by Center for International Affairs on 3 March and 3) Rectors Forum by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod on 4 March. There were approximately 30 Russian universities and 15 Thai universities joined this online forum.
