CIA brings in Canadian scholarship and mobility opportunities

On 9 March 2021, Center for International Affairs (CIA) organized a virtual ZOOM event “Study in Canada: Scholarship and Mobility Programs” in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada to provide the information of scholarship and mobility programs of Canadian universities.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Director of CIA, introduced that this event was arranged for staff and students of Walailak University who are interested in furthering their study or making collaborations and mobilities with Canadian universities and would like to seek for funding opportunities.

Khun Nichawan Sriviboone, from Embassy of Canada, a Trade Commissioner and speaker of the program gave a presentation about Canada, its educational system and general information of some short-term and long-term scholarships offered for Thai students. The speaker mentioned to the participants that any application for such a scholarship offered by Canadian funding agencies, an applicant must make it through a Canadian university partner both at an institutional level or UMAP Members level. The speaker offered her kind assistance on behalf of Canadian Embassy in matching a Thai university with a Canadian partner.
