The executives of Walailak University (WU) including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President for Global Engagement and Faculty Development; Assoc. The project was managed through WU’s Digital Technology Center and donated 70 computers to schools and government agencies in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The donated computers were received by each agency’s executives in the hall of the Digital Technology Center building.

Participating schools and government agencies included Patumanukul School, Bankuantom School, Banhuaiprik School, Bankuanrui School, Yangham Temple School, Wanhong Temple School, Bansphanhan School, Mahadislamimaneeyah School, Banronglek School, Bansuanay School, Watsuwannaram Community School, Watyangkom School, Watthungsan School, Phrom Khiri Vocational College, Sub-district Health Promotion Hospital Demonstrative Community or Walailakpattana Village, Noppitam Hospital, and Mr. Pricha Leaslum, village No.5 headman of Hua Taphan subdistrict.

Advocating for the distribution of computers for working and studying purposes is a project under the management of the Digital Technology Center. It routinely donates computers having been used for more than 5 years but which retain both quality and speed so as to make them still good and useable. These computers are often used for normal office work in schools in Nakhon Si Thammarat and in nearby provinces, as well as at local government agencies lacking computers for teaching and operations. This has been a project which the Digital Technology Center has operated annually since 2002. For those interested in registering for future donations, please submit a letter of intent to Walailak University. Effectiveness assessments of the past few year's projects have shown that the computers were able to be used efficiently and achieved the project’s desired effect.
