A preliminary collaborative meeting between WU and UNN, Russia

On 8 April 2021, Walailak University (WU) and National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) had an online collaborative meeting to explore possible academic collaborations between the two universities.

Dr. Konstantin Kemaev, Director of International Cooperation Office, UNN, gave a brief university presentation and proposed possible areas of collaborations. He also expressed his willing to connect UNN relevant departments to collaborate with WU schools on their keen interest in specific areas. Whereas, WU representatives led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod Maisrikrod, Vice-President for Global Engagement and Faculty Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Director of Center for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. David Harding, Deputy Director of Center for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensuthasinee, Dean of School of Science and Heads of Center of Excellence, and Dr. Kamon Thinsurat, representative from School of Engineering and Technology, joined the meeting and presented overviews of the two schools and areas of interest for collaborations. Some possible fields of collaborations can possibly be student and staff exchange, visiting professor projects, joint research projects, scholarships for MSc and PhD students, 4-8 month internship programs, and online seminars. However, the two universities will be in further contact to initiate MOU for academic  development of both institutions.
