Walailak University Co-organizes the 48th International Congress on Science, Technology and Technology-based Innovation

Walailak University in collaboration with the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King organize the 48th International Congress on Science, Technology and Technology-based Innovation (STT48). The Congress, one of Thailand's long-lasting annual scientific meeting events, will be held at the School of Science, Walailak University, from 29 November to 1 December 2022.

     The congress's theme, "Science and Technology for Advancing Towards SDGs," will give scientists from all over the world a special opportunity to grasp the importance of science and technology in addressing global challenges and finding long-term solutions that are advantageous to all.

     Walailak University is honored to have Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously preside over the opening ceremony on 29 November 2022; and attend the keynote lecture by 2013 Nobel Laureate in Physiology/Medicine Professor Randy W. Schekman on the topic of Traffic of Cas9-gRNA Between Cultured Human Cells Mediated by Cell-Cell Contact, a lecture by world-renowned scientist Professor Emeritus Roland Von Bothmer on the topic of Science and Biodiversity – Use and Conservation of Genetic Resources for the Future, and the plenary lecture from the 2022 Outstanding Scientist of Thailand Professor Dr. Vip Viprakasit on the topic of Bringing Genomic Medicine to the Real-world Setting.

     Hundreds of scientists working in the field of science, technology, and innovation are expected to attend the event. Lectures from numerous speakers and several papers will be presented orally or in the form of posters. And an exhibition of cutting-edge scientific and technological knowledge from several organizations will be displayed.

     “This year, we have more than 360 participants. We are also hosting a young rising star competition, and having at least six sessions and nine symposiums. It’s all very interesting and brain-nurturing. I am sure once you come to the STT48 at Walailak University, you will receive a warm welcome, enjoy local culture and food, and have a great time with your friends,” said Associate Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, Dean of School of Science, Walailak University, as the host of STT48.
