Food technology is an exciting area that applies basic science, mathematics and engineering to convert agricultural commodities into edible foods and beverages. Students trained in this area have expertise in food processing, food chemistry, food microbiology, food engineering and management and administration of food industries, food quality control and assurance and food product development. Graduates are prepared for positions in food quality and standards, product development, research and technical services.
