The Pharm. D. program is aimed to provide the best practice and state of the art training for student pharmacists to possess professional competencies and qualities in accordance with the world-class standards in terms of their skills in community pharmaceuticals. Our graduated students will be capable of competently working in any professional health team with other health science partners to render qualitative services to support, foster and promote public health endeavors for safer and more effective uses of good drugs.
The Pharm. D. Program is designed to educate and train pharmacist students to attain the best professional competency and integrity for desirable pharmacists. Our effective teaching methods include lectures, seminars, practical assignments, problem-based learning, and self directed learning activities, with more emphases on building their critical thinking, problem-solving and clinical skills. More practical trainings and practicum to promote professional experiences will be undertaken in community hospitals, primary care units, drug stores, and pharmaceutical companies. The School aspires to foster in our graduate pharmacists strong commitments to life-long learning and to provide an environment where students will eventually develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills consistent with the profession’s high standards pertinent to making good drugs, promoting good practices in community pharmaceuticals and building good health for sustainable quality of the life of the people domestically and internationally.
Upon their completion of the Pharm. D. program, all pharmacy graduates will be well-informed and well-trained sufficiently to take the Pharmacy Council’s qualifying examination to secure their Pharmacist License. Our Pharm. D. graduates have excellent career prospects both regionally and nationally in the wide range of professional pharmaceutical endeavors: for instance, community practice, hospital pharmacy, drug development, drug production, marketing and registration in the pharmaceutical industries, federal or state government agencies in charge of and/or dealing with drugs, drug preparations and drug registration.
Postgraduate Study Opportunities
Graduates from this Pharm. D. study program are qualified and eligible to enroll in postgraduate programs in Pharmacy either at nationally or internationally institutions where Masters’ and Doctoral study programs are offered in various fields of concentration, such as social and administrative pharmacy, pharmaceutical care and pharmaceutical sciences.
