These programs are designed to promote high level study and research in Applied, Plasma, and Materials Physics.
Applied Physics – The application of Physics to subjects of interest to students. Research topics include instrumentation in astrophysics, computerization of instrumentation, agricultural physics, and ozone physics.
Materials Physics - The study of processes and analytical methods and procedures to determine the magnetic, chemical, mechanical, and environmental composition and properties of metal, polymer ceramics and semiconductors with relevant application to manufacturing, environmental, and other technologies. Research emphasis is on wood physics and magnetism.
Plasma Physics - The study of ionized gases both natural and laboratory sources. Research topics include: atmospheric glow discharge RF plasma and its applications, helicon plasma and industrial processing.
