On June 6, 2026, Walailak University, through its Center for Student Promotion and Development, organized the WU Freshy Fun Run 2026, bringing together more than 4,000 students, alumni, and faculty members at the activity ground in front of the Next Gen (NG) Building. The event was officially opened by Assistant Professor Tanasun Tapparut, Assistant to the President, who delivered the welcome remarks.

Assistant Professor Tanasun stated that the event provided a valuable opportunity for students to participate in activities together amid the university’s lush natural surroundings. In addition to encouraging physical fitness, the event also supported students’ mental well-being, aligning with Walailak University’s commitment to developing graduates with strong overall well-being as outlined in the university’s policy. 

 

The WU Freshy Fun Run has been organized continuously as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen relationships among students, particularly first-year students. The event also offers participants the chance to experience the beauty of nature along the walking and running route through Walailak Park, one of the university’s iconic landmarks and a popular recreational area, Assistant Professor Tanasun added.
