The School of Political Science and Laws of Walailak University signed an MOU with Thung Song Municipality to develop academic cooperation and academic services.

On 26th January 2021 Professor Doctor Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the president of Walailak University, and Mr. Songchai Wongwatcharadamrong, the lord mayor of Thung Song’s municipality, together signed an MOU to coordinate between Walailak University and the municipality of Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The agreement integrates both academic cooperation and academic services by having Mrs. Tuenjit Jongkrong, the clerk of municipal Thung Song, and Professor Doctor Surasit Vajirakachorn, WU’s School of Political Science and Law’s dean sign as witnesses in front of executives and teachers of the two institutions at the 2nd-floor meeting room of the Cooperative Building.

 

This signing aims to establish academic cooperation and academic services between the University of Walailak and the Municipality of Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, which could lead to further development of the country by increasing education and staff development in various related fields. Together, the parties drew up an MOU on different topics including (1) research cooperation, such as the development of a joint research network, the co-creation of a variety of research projects, and research/community research collaboration areas, (2) academic cooperation, such as the provision of academic advice and the promotion of academic learning exchanges with staff, students and the community, as well as participation in other relevant activities, 3) cooperation in the conduct of academic service projects/joint training projects between the University of Walailak and the municipality of Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, 4) cooperation in the exchange of information for workers, students, and the community to encourage creativity and different ways of learning, and (5) collaboration in education, such as in the preparation for the creation of human resources support and student internships
