Walailak University Welcoming the Visit from an MOU Partner Chunghwa Telecom Thailand (CHT)

   

   Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, accompanied by the university’s executive team welcomed the executives from Chunghwa Telecom Thailand (CHT) led by Mr. Arthur Yang, President of CHT Thailand, Mr. Chieh-Han Ke, Vice of President of CHT, Dr. Ittichai Boonsiri, Vice- President of CHT to visit Walailak University and Walailak hospital, Nakhon Si Thammarat on 17th March 2022. This visit followed the first on 17th February 2022 at Chor Pradu Conference room, 4th floor, Walailak University hospital. The aim was to discuss official cooperation to advance Walailak University hospital's information systems and solutions in order to attain the goal of becoming a smart hospital. 


    In this regard, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lunla Udomwech, Acting Director of Walailak University Hospital, presented the progress of the hospital, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poonpong Boonbrahm, Dean of the School of Informatics, and heads of other system development teams giving updates on the hospital’s current system application. Representing the CHT was Dr. Ittichai Boonsiri giving information on technologies and the company’s services such as the systems set in function at leading hospitals. Joining this visit were Dr. Ekkachai Siripanich (M.D), a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Medical Education Center at Maharat Hospital, Nakhon Si Thammarat, together with a team of four and Dr. Khanittha Dechnakarin, a specialist in Pediatrics from Thasala Hospital. 

 

  
    

    In addition, Dr. Nina Kao, CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH), Taiwan, who has been an MOU partner with Walailak University since 2019, also joined the Zoom cloud meeting system with Mr. Beren Hsieh, Business Development Manager, imedtac, Chunghwa Telecom Taiwan. The two organizations, CHT and CCH, have the same cooperative relationship as Walailak University. 


    Since CCH and Walailak University Medical Center Hospital has been Affiliate Hospital before. At the end of the reception, Dr. Nina Kao gave a gift of 100,000 baht in check on the occasion of the university's 30th anniversary (29 March 2022) to support the organizing of the 1st Annual Walailak Research Convention (WRC 2022).
