Walailak University ranked 19th in Thailand and 551-600 in Asia in QS Asia University Rankings 2022

Walailak University (WU) has set out its unprecedented journey in achieving its first-time QS Asia University Rankings of 551-600, joining the 19th rank among Thai universities.

After the result release of QS Asia University Rankings 2022 on November 2nd, 2021, President Sombat Thamrongthanyawong reported for the first time since its foundation in 1992, Walailak University (WU) has achieved the regional rank of 551-600 in Asia certified by QS Asia University Rankings 2022.  Out of the 23 Thai universities featured by QS Asia University Rankings 2022, WU currently joined the 19th rank.
As a result of his solid support for academic publication in Q1 and Q2 journals in Scopus as well as for more international research collaboration, President Sombat Thamrongthanyawong further shared his strong expectation in its higher future world rankings.
“With our determination to develop a quality university in the upper south of Thailand, besides QS Asia University Rankings, WU is also working on promoting its global profile on the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022.  WU’s performance indicators for THE World University Rankings 2022 will be submitted around March 2022,” said President Sombat Thamrongthanyawong.
