Walailak University welcomes the delegation from Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan

 

  Walailak University welcomes the MOU-partner delegation from Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan on an official visit to Walailak University to discuss further collaboration on health science facilities and education in relation to the development of Walailak University Hospital.


    On September 2, 2022, Walailak University led by Professor. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University together with an executive team, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Wuthisuthimethavee, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Charan Boonkarn, acting vice president as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poonpong Boonbrahm, Dean of the School of Information Science, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs (CIA), welcomes the delegation from the Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan, represented by Dr. Nina, Kao H. L., Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by an executive team consisting of Ms. Tiffany Tsai and Ms. Dorothy Chang. Joining the meeting at Chorpradu Conference Room, Administration Building, Walailak University Hospital. 

 


   This official visit reinforces a good relationship between Walailak University and the Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan, regarding the development of health science facilities and education. Delegations from both parties discussed prospective co-conducted medical education and research programs i.e., medical nurse training programs, staff training programs, sharing of knowledge of medical technologies, and student exchange programs.


   Professor. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, gave a remark about Walailak University Hospital’s continued collaboration since the MOU signing in December in 2019. President Sombat capitalized on the accomplishments upon the 1st phase of construction completion including services for inpatients and outpatients, medical technologies and facilities, and the university’s function as a training site for medical science students.

 “We will soon complete our private foundation building for monks next year, and as a result accommodating more patients,” added Prof. Dr. Sombat. 


    On this occasion, deans of health science programs of Walailak University including the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, School of Pharmacy, and School of Allied Health Sciences reflected on the school’s operation in educational management as well as discussed possibilities of the plans in conjunction with policies of the Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital. Dr. Nina, Kao H. L., the Chief Executive of Staff, responded positively to the proposals and provided directions accordingly. 


    “As a smart hospital, we have been hosting exchange programs and training programs in medical sciences including medicine, nursing, public health, and medical technologies for students and staff from many countries,” said Dr. Nina, Kao H. L., the Chief Executive of Staff. 


    Dr. Nina, Kao H. L., said further about Walailak University Hospital being a medical center with the availability of modern medical facilities and technologies as well as a qualified specialized workforce. Therefore, the next step is to communicate such qualities. In this regard, Dr. Nina shared success in promoting the organization’s recognition through public relations to create a good understanding regarding services and treatment fees, for example. 


    “We thank Walailak University for warmly receiving us and hope that we are establishing an even closer relationship. We look forward to seeing WU representatives at the conference on September 6th,” said Dr. Nina. 


     Walailak University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Overseas Medical Mission Center, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan, and has been collaborating in training and knowledge sharing with Walailak University since then. This year, on September 6th, representatives from Walailak University will be joining a 2022 Taiwan-Thailand Smart Healthcare Conference in Bangkok to expand networks and learn about innovative technology in precision and regeneration medicine. With travel restrictions being lifted, there will soon be more mobilities between the two institutions.
