Continual donations have been made to Walailak University International Exchange Scholarship (WUIES) Fund. Since its establishment in July last year, initiated by President Sombat Thamrongthanyawong to support students in gaining international experience, the fund has experienced continuous growth, receiving contributions from donors who recognize the importance of broadening students’ worldviews and experiences.
Today, at the Honor Hall of Walailak University Hospital, Ms. Porntip Jitburut and Mr. Yutthapong Jitburut from JITTI OA CO., LTD. donated 50,000 Baht to support the WUIES Fund in providing opportunities abroad for students through short courses and exchange programs.
This generosity brings the fund’s total to 626,000 Baht as of 24 May 2024.
“This experience is valuable and beneficial for students,” said Mr. Yutthapong, son of Ms. Porntip, the owner of JITTI OA. “We see it as providing opportunities for students. From the experiences they gain from going abroad, they can apply them and contribute back to society.”
Welcoming and representing Walailak University to receive the support from JITTI OA, Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President, thanked the donors for their generosity in being a part of this effort. He also briefed them about the university’s development and progress, which have led the university to its recognition as a world-class institution with the highest number of HEA Fellowships in the nation.
Also participating in the ceremony to receive the donation were Dr. Mongkol Teerananond, Assistant to the President; Assistant Professor Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs; Ms. Hattakarn Karunpaisarn, Head of the Division of Finance and Accounting; and Ms. Raksiri Kaewtawee, a lecturer from the School of Architecture and Design.
