Supasorn-Atit for Education Foundation, from ACC Medical Lab Co., Ltd., has donated 100,000 Baht to Walailak University to support students in gaining international experience through exchange programs and short courses.
The donation was made today at the Honor Hall of Walailak University Hospital to the Walailak University International Exchange Scholarship (WUIES) fund. This generosity brings the fund’s total to 726,000 Baht.
Representing the Supasorn-Atit Foundation in making the donation were Mr. Nunthasak Sukkeaw, Vice President for Sales from ACC Medical Lab, an alumnus from the 9th batch of Walailak University's Medical Technology Program, along with Ms. Kullarus Sukkorn, Mr. Thawit Thianmas, and Ms. Kanthamanee Ridthapai.
Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President of Walailak University, said that the donation to support students in gaining opportunities abroad offers great benefits. It not only allows students to hone their English language skills but also provides opportunities for personal growth, confidence building, and expanding their worldview. Moreover, it serves as preparation for their future careers.
“We aim to promote international opportunities for our students to the fullest extent," said Vice President Surin. “According to a survey by the Center for International Affairs, there are approximately 1,000 students who desire to participate in international exchange programs and short courses. While some can financially support themselves, others rely on support.”
“Therefore, we are working with Dr. Mongkol to raise the fund," he said.
Assistant Professor Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs (CIA), said that following the President's guidance, the scholarship will be given to students who have excellent academic performance and a strong desire to go abroad but are financially disadvantaged.
“The CIA will hold discussions with the committee and administrators to draft clear regulations and guidelines. And the school or college the students are in will be responsible for selecting the scholarship recipients.”
"Participating in exchange programs abroad also helps develop the desired characteristics set by the university, particularly in terms of global leadership,” added Director Patnarin.
Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Mongkol Teerananond, Assistant to the President; Dr. Suthasinee Sangkhum, Assistant to the President; and Ms. Hattakarn Karunpaisarn, Head of the Division of Finance and Accounting.
