Walailak University Conducting Health Outreach Service for In-depth Health Assessments and Home Visits

On March 21st, 2024, the Promoting the Health of Disadvantaged People, Refugee/Immigrant Community Project within the Local Community Health Service Network of Walailak University led by Asst. Prof. Kamlai Somrak and Ms. Kannika Srisomthrong, the lecturers from the School of Nursing, the Center for Academic Services, Walailak University Hospital, along with the Ban Thung Chon Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital and the Village Health Volunteers, conducted health outreach service for in-depth health assessments and home visits (the health outreach service.) These activities included health check-ups, health care advice, and home visits to understand the living conditions of disadvantaged people, bedridden patients and refugee/immigrant workers in Hua Tapan, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The goal was to gather data for analysis and design support mechanisms to ensure that the target group can lead healthy lives according to their age group.

The objectives of this health outreach project are as follows: 1). To provide opportunities for disadvantaged, refugee/immigrant groups to enhance their health in accordance with their basic needs. 2). To enable disadvantaged, refugee/immigrant groups to lead fulfilling lives in line with their basic needs while residing in Thailand.
