The workshop was presided over by Mr. Vongvachira Ovararin, Deputy President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality, in which more than 130 attendees participated.
Nakhon Si Thammarat Municipality aims to raise awareness among people in Nakhon Si Thammarat about the problems of waste management. The project has then been launched with the hope that people place importance on reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. The project is also expected to increase citizen participation to reduce the amount of waste at the communal level.
The workshop’s topics covered various aspects, including measures and basic information in waste management using the 3Rs principles by using a mobile application. The information gained from the workshop will be integrated with activities in the waste management enhancement project on campus under the collaboration between Walailak University and relevant organizations, of which Mr. Phusit Horpet, lecturer and researcher at WU, is the head of the project. The project is implemented to particularly tackle SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
