Walailak University (WU) International Affairs Task Force recently paid a courtesy call to the Embassy of Nigeria. The purpose of the visit was to introduce WU to the international community and highlight its achievements in various aspects such as research excellence, Sustainable Development Goals impact, and global greater good contributions and commitment.
WU took this opportunity to welcome exchange students and to serve as part of the human resource development of the nation via the offer of WU International postgraduate scholarships in its 19 international programs, as well as to contribute to educational and research collaboration between the countries.
The international taskforce, consisting of Dr. Suthasinee Sangkhum, Assistant to the President; Assistant Professor Dr. Chantira Wongnen, Deputy Dean of the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry; Dr. Suchita Manajit, Deputy Dean of Walailak University International College (WUIC); and Assistant Professor Dr. Shubham Pathak, Assistant Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, traveled to Bangkok on 29 August 2024.
They met with Mohammed I. Haidara, DPA, Chargé d'affaires, a.i.; Counsellor Sonari M. Uraih; and Weerawan Saowakul, Ph.D., Social Secretary. The embassy expressed interest in visiting WU and committed to promoting WU’s scholarship offers and PhD grant opportunities to relevant institutions. The embassy showed interest in the student exchange program with WUIC and the PhD grant opportunities.
