Thasala, Nakhon Si Thammarat, 10 January 2025 – Walailak University’s Center for Academic Services, as the coordinating center for the southern region of the Young Scientist Competition (YSC), organized the 27th YSC 2025 project presentation round. The event took place at the Architecture & Design Building, Walailak University, in collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Walailak University.
The competition provided a platform for secondary school students to showcase their talents in science, technology, and innovation. This year’s event featured two key sessions: the project presentation round and a scholarship award ceremony. A total of 43 outstanding science projects from 17 secondary schools across southern Thailand qualified as finalists, representing diverse scientific fields such as Biology and Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Agriculture and Food Technology.
Each participating project received a grant of 3,000 baht, while winners were awarded an additional 9,000 baht, along with certificates of achievement. The winning projects will represent the southern region in the national-level YSC competition, scheduled to be held from February 2 to 5, 2025, at Thailand Science Park, Bangkok.
The event highlighted Walailak University’s commitment to nurturing scientific innovation and supporting young talents, furthering its mission to contribute to national and regional development in science and technology.
