Walailak University, through the Research and Innovation Institute of Excellence and its centers of excellence, is set to host the 4^th Walailak Research Convention (WRC 2025) and Walailak Investor Day 2025 in a hybrid format, marking the university’s 33^rd anniversary.

Under the theme “The Roles of Higher Education in Driving Sustainability and Blue Carbon,” the event will serve as a global platform for presenting academic research, exchanging knowledge and experiences, fostering research collaboration, and promoting the utilization of research and innovation. The convention is scheduled from March 26 to 28, 2025, at Walailak University.

This year’s convention is expected to welcome over 1,000 participants, both onsite and online. Special lectures will be delivered by renowned scholars from leading global universities, with representatives from over 20 countries confirming participation.

The opening ceremony, taking place on March 27, will be presided over by Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of the Office of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council, Thailand, who will deliver a keynote address on “The Roles of Higher Education in Driving Sustainability and Blue Carbon.”

Additionally, a panel discussion titled “Blue Carbon and Sustainability” will feature distinguished panelists, including Prof. Ir. Dr. U. Johnson Alengaram - University of Malaya, Malaysia; Prof. Vikas Kumar - Birmingham City University, United Kingdom; Prof. Dr. Ikuo Hirono - Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee - Walailak University, Thailand.

The event will also feature various academic conferences and seminars hosted by Walailak’s research centers. Esteemed international speakers from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United States, New Zealand, Finland, Poland, Russia, and Palestine will share their insights and expertise.
