On April 30, 2025, Walailak University joined the ASEAN University Network - Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN Associate Membership), marking a significant step in advancing the university’s commitment to health promotion and its vision of becoming a Health University.

As part of this initiative, the university underwent the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) assessment, which evaluates health promotion efforts across ASEAN universities based on 22 indicators and 46 evaluation items. The assessment focuses on promoting health and well-being among students and staff.

Walailak University was awarded 5 stars in the Report on the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) Version 2024. The evaluation was based on a comprehensive scoring system, totaling 1,000 points. It included:
•    Systems and Infrastructure (SI): 470 points
•    Thematic Areas, consisting of: Zero Tolerance Areas (ZT): 270 points and Health Promotion Areas (HP): 260 points

The rating scale is as follows:
•    1-199 points = 1 Star
•    200 - 399 points = 2 Stars
•    400 - 599 points = 3 Stars
•    600 - 799 points = 4 Stars
•    800 - 899 points = 5 Stars
•    900 points and above = 5 Stars Plus
