From April 23 to 30, 2025, a delegation from the School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University, visited four prestigious universities in Kansai, Japan to establish academic collaborations and promote international partnerships. The delegation included:

Kobe University (April 23, 2025):
Discussions focused on the development of Japanese and Eastern language curricula, connections for Japanese teachers, faculty and student exchange programs and joint research in language and cultural studies.
Okayama University (April 24, 2025):
The delegation engaged with the Institute of Global Human Resource, the EPOK Program, and the Faculty of Letters to discuss student exchange programs, Japanese language education, and potential co-supervision of PhD students.
Kansai Gaidai University (April 25, 2025):
Talks covered 3+1 credit transfer models, opportunities for Walailak University students to study abroad & internship, and offering Thai language courses for Japanese students.
Kyoto University (April 28, 2025):
Discussions centered on designing a Japanese language curriculum that aligns with labor market needs, management for academic credit transfers, and offering Thai language instruction through the ASEAN Center.
This visit marks a significant step in Walailak University’s mission to enhance its international presence and open new opportunities for academic exchange, collaborative research, and culturally diverse learning experiences. The School of Liberal Arts, with its focus on language excellence, will strengthen its role as a hub for language learning in the upper southern region.
