WU Prepares to Launch "Roi Rang Festival X THASALA RUN 2026" to Boost Creative Tourism in Tha Sala District

THA SALA, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 26 June 2026 — Walailak University, through the Center for Academic Services and the School of Accountancy and Finance, held a planning meeting with the Tha Sala Tourism Club and the Tourist Information Center of Bonon Beach to prepare for the launch of "Roi Rang Festival X THASALA RUN 2026," a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting creative tourism and stimulating the local economy of Tha Sala District.

The event is supported by the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Hall and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports. It is designed to strengthen the grassroots economy by showcasing local tourism assets, culinary heritage, and community products. By integrating a Chef's Table experience with a community running event, the festival will create opportunities for local entrepreneurs, food producers, farmers, fishers, and small businesses to generate income, add value to local products, and expand their market reach.

Scheduled to be held at Bonon Beach in Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat, the festival is expected to attract visitors from both within and outside the province, increasing tourism spending while raising awareness of the district's unique natural and cultural resources. The initiative also seeks to encourage collaboration among government agencies, the university, local businesses, and community organizations to support sustainable tourism development.

The initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, by providing a platform for local food producers, farmers, and aquaculture communities to showcase their products, promote local food culture, and connect directly with consumers. It also supports sustainable livelihoods by expanding economic opportunities and enhancing the value of local agricultural and seafood products through tourism and community engagement.
