THA SALA, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 3–4 September 2025 — Walailak University, under the leadership of Dr. Konrawan Rattanaburi and students from WU International College, organized simulation activities to assess English proficiency among local restaurant workers from Lun Burger Restaurant and Pala Café Restaurant. These activities were part of an evaluation session followed by the vocational training workshop titled “Essential English for Restaurant Workers and Local Fishermen,” held at Walailak University.

During the session, Dr. Konrawan and the foreign students conducted role-play exercises in which local workers practiced speaking English as if interacting with foreign customers. Key topics covered included:

     - Greetings, food recommendations, and taking orders

     - International etiquette in restaurant service

     - Handling customer complaints

     - Explaining food ingredients to customers with allergies

In addition, Dr. Konrawan presented draft designs of A3 English menu boards developed by WU. These English menus aim to attract foreign customers, potentially increasing revenue for local restaurants.

This initiative directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 1: No Poverty, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering educational opportunities, enhancing local livelihoods, and strengthening collaborative community partnerships.
