THA SALA, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 5 September 2025 — Walailak University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittika Kabploy and Asst. Prof. Ratchadaporn Boripun, visited Satit Walailak Pattana Community to evaluate the outcomes of the project “Career Promotion for Local Livestock Farmers.” The project aims to:

     1. Develop pig production and farm management systems for a stable livelihood

     2. Improve pig health management to enhance production efficiency at the Walailak Demonstration Community

     3. Create added value through pork product processing

During the visit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Krittika Kabploy and Asst. Prof. Ratchadaporn Boripun engaged in discussions and exchanged ideas with local farmers regarding the project’s implementation. The evaluation revealed that the initiative has significantly benefited the community by improving pig farming quality and efficiency. Additionally, pork processing has helped reduce costs and generate supplemental income.

Based on community feedback, several approaches were proposed to further enhance farmers’ knowledge and practices: pig health management, high-quality farming system management, reducing feed costs, expanding sales channels for fresh pork, and promoting biogas system adoption for prepared farmers.

he project aligns with multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 2: Zero Hunger – ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture, SDG 1: No Poverty – ending all forms of poverty, SDG 4: Quality Education – ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – building collaboration with networks and relevant organizations.
