On 23 December 2025, Walailak University formally established a strategic partnership with eight leading schools in Southern Thailand through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony. The agreements were signed by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, alongside executives from the partner schools. The event was held at the Huataphan Meeting Room at Walailak University Hospital and was attended by a distinguished gathering of university executives, school administrators, and faculty members.
The eight participating institutions include Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Nakhon Si Thammarat, Petcharik Demonstration School, Thungsong School, Satreethungsong School, Sriyapai School, Saard Phaderm Wittaya School, Trang Christian Suksa School, and Panyawit School Trang.

This collaborative initiative is designed to strengthen academic networks and foster relationships between the university and secondary schools that are committed to elevating student potential. The partnership focuses on enhancing academic quality, professional skill sets, and core competencies. Additionally, it provides a framework for joint instructional training for staff and creates a platform for research-based learning within schools—particularly in the fields of science and social sciences—to bolster the academic capacity of both teachers and students.

Professor Dr. Sombat said that Walailak University, as a higher education institution, is committed to developing knowledge and strengthening educational capacity for school administrators, teachers, educational personnel, and students through various approaches. These include sharing knowledge, technology, and educational resources to better prepare students for higher education. He emphasized that academic collaboration between the university and schools serves as an important mechanism to align learning and development with the needs of upper secondary students in Southern Thailand.
Under these agreements, the university and the partner schools will engage in an exchange of expertise and resources. This includes access to state-of-the-art science and health science laboratories, technology centers, sports and health facilities, and English language development. Furthermore, the partner schools will support Walailak University by providing teaching practicums and professional experience opportunities for its students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their careers upon graduation.
