On January 16, 2026, the School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University (WU), welcomed a delegation from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) on the occasion of the 6th TICA on Tour program. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of TICA, and Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard, Vice President for Cooperative Education and Central Management at Walailak University.

The event attracted interest from more than 200 students and was held at the Huataphan Conference Room, Walailak University Hospital.

Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak said that Walailak University places strong emphasis on providing students with international exposure, particularly through overseas cooperative education programs. These initiatives enable students to gain cross-cultural work experience, understand diverse ways of life, and develop global perspectives on professional practices. He noted that the collaboration with TICA offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain insights into development work with global impact, serving as inspiration for them to set clear goals and remain committed to their personal and professional development.

The key highlights of the 6th TICA on Tour included a special lecture on Diplomacy for Development, which explored Thailand’s role on the global stage and international relations, a career-sharing session on becoming an International Cooperation Officer, and firsthand accounts from volunteers with overseas experience.

In addition, the Director-General of TICA met with international scholarship students and Korean volunteers currently working at Walailak University. He also held discussions with university executives to explore future collaboration frameworks aimed at jointly developing human resources in a sustainable manner.

TICA on Tour is a proactive initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that seeks to engage the public and youth by fostering a concrete understanding of Thailand’s foreign affairs mission. The program also highlights opportunities for applying knowledge and expertise to create positive impacts at both national and regional levels.
