Walailak University (WU) continues to reaffirm its excellence in cooperative education by hosting “Walailak University Cooperative Education Day (WU Coop Day & Job Fair) for Fiscal Year 2026.” The event brought together 85 leading organizations from across the country to create a dynamic job fair aimed at recruiting high-competency graduates, while also recognizing outstanding partner organizations that play a key role in advancing the University’s cooperative education system.

Held on 28 January 2025, the event was organized by the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development as a central platform connecting Walailak University’s quality graduates with the national labor market. Through on-site job interviews and recruitment activities, students were given the opportunity to engage directly with top employers and demonstrate their professional readiness.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. The event report was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard. Vice President for Cooperative Education and Central Administration, alongside Dr. Attanan Tachopisalwong, Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development. University executives, faculty members, staff, students, executives from participating organizations, and representatives from Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) partner institutions in Southern Thailand attended the event in large numbers at the Thaiburi Grand Auditorium.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong shared the University’s key policy directions and vision behind the event, noting that the vibrant atmosphere created by both employers and students clearly reflected the success of strong academic and professional collaboration. He emphasized that Walailak University has a clear mission to develop “High Competency Graduates” who excel in both academic knowledge and practical professional skills.

“Walailak University is proud to be the first institution in Thailand to comprehensively reform its curriculum by integrating an 8-month cooperative education program across all degree programs. This extended period of intensive, real-world work experience allows students to gain end-to-end professional exposure, produce tangible outcomes, and fully develop their capabilities—ensuring they are truly ready to work, which is exactly what today’s labor market demands,” said Professor Dr. Sombat.

Toward the conclusion of the event, Professor Dr. Sombat expressed his sincere appreciation to key partners, particularly JOBBBKK.com, for their support in organizing the event. He also commended all award-winning organizations as invaluable educational partners, and encouraged students to seize this opportunity to showcase their potential and move confidently toward a bright professional future.
