"นักวิจัยด้านการพัฒนายาและระบบนำส่งยา"
จุดเริ่มต้นมาจากการทำวิจัยในระดับปริญญาตรี เกี่ยวกับระบบนำส่งยาสู่ทางเดินหายใจของยากลุ่มเปปไทด์และโปรตีน ภายใต้การดูแลของ ศ.ดร.ภก.ธีระพล ศรีชนะ ทำให้ได้เรียนรู้การพัฒนายารูปแบบใหม่ๆ การใช้เครื่องมือวิเคราะห์วิจัยชั้นสูง และการศึกษาในสัตว์ทดลอง จึงเป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการศึกษาต่อระดับ ปริญญาโท และปริญญาเอก
หลังจบปริญญาโท ได้ทำงานในฝ่ายวิจัยและพัฒนาของโรงงานผลิตยาชั้นนำในประเทศไทย ทำให้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้การพัฒนายาสามัญใหม่ ผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อสุขภาพ สมุนไพร เครื่องสำอาง เมื่อเป็นผู้จัดการฝ่ายวิจัยฯ ได้บริหารโครงการและศึกษาทางคลินิก ทำให้ได้ทักษะการทำวิจัยอย่างเป็นระบบ
ต่อมาเมื่อเป็นอาจารย์สำนักวิชาเภสัชศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ จึงได้ทำงานวิจัยที่ถนัด เช่น การพัฒนายารูปแบบของแข็ง (ยาเม็ด) การพัฒนายาสูดพ่นสู่ทางเดินหายใจ รวมทั้งทำงานวิจัยเพื่อแก้ปัญหาให้ผู้ประกอบการตามโจทย์จากหน่วยงานต่างๆ
พัฒนาวิธีการสกัดใบบัวบกให้มีสารออกฤทธิ์ (Asiatic acid, Madecassic acid ฯลฯ) ในปริมาณมาก และนำมาเตรียมเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ใส่แผลรูปแบบสเปรย์ เมื่อพ่นบริเวณแผลสด สารละลายจะกลายเป็นแผ่นฟิล์มใสปกคลุม ป้องกันสิ่งสกปรกและเก็บสารออกฤทธิ์ไว้ที่แผล ผลทดสอบในหนูและมนุษย์ (อาสาสมัครสุขภาพดี) พบว่าช่วยให้แผลหายเร็วขึ้นภายใน 3 วัน
ผลมะม่วงหิมพานต์มักถูกทิ้งเป็นของเสียทางการเกษตร แต่งานวิจัยพบว่ามีวิตามินซีสูงและสารชะลอวัย จึงนำมาสกัดน้ำและเตรียมในรูปแบบ ลิโปโซม เพื่อเป็นเวชสำอางชะลอวัยต้นแบบ ช่วยให้ซึมเข้าผิวได้ดีขึ้น 2.1 เท่า และมีความคงตัวสูง
ส่วนที่เป็น กากผล ถูกนำมาพัฒนาเป็นสารช่วยทางเภสัชกรรม (Filler ผสมในยาเม็ด) พบว่ามีคุณสมบัติที่ดีในการทำให้ยาเม็ดแตกกระจายตัวได้เร็วขึ้น
เพิ่มมูลค่าของเหลือใช้ทางการเกษตร และส่งเสริมให้เกิดผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อสุขภาพชนิดใหม่ๆ มีประสิทธิภาพดี ลดการนำเข้าจากต่างประเทศ และเพิ่มรายได้ให้กับผู้ผลิตและประเทศไทย
ส่งเสริมสุขภาวะของประชากรจากผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อสุขภาพที่มีประสิทธิภาพ และส่งเสริมให้ชุมชนเพาะปลูกเป็นพืชเศรษฐกิจเพิ่มเติม
เพิ่มศักยภาพการวิจัยของประเทศให้มีความก้าวหน้า
