Walailak University Welcomes US Fulbright Scholar Dr. Gregory A. Emery for Student-Led Market Research Fieldwork

Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand — Monday 9 February 2026 — Walailak University highlighted an experiential learning initiative led by Dr. Gregory A. Emery, a US Fulbright Scholar Award recipient, during the Spring 2026 semester.

Dr. Emery, who is teaching BBA65-361 Marketing Strategies in the Digital Era and BBA65-362 Innovation and Creative Marketing, brought students into the field to conduct market research in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The activity focused on two key business areas: the fast-food sector and the pet/animal food business, giving students hands-on opportunities to apply marketing frameworks and research methods in real market settings.

Through direct observation and data collection, students practiced core skills such as identifying customer needs, analyzing competition, and assessing consumer behavior—bridging classroom concepts with real-world business dynamics.

This field-based approach reflects Walailak University’s commitment to strengthening students’ practical competencies and preparing them for today’s rapidly changing digital and innovation-driven marketplace.
