Walailak University and SWU Faculty of Medicine Strengthen Academic Ties through Research and Graduate Education Collaboration

On May 18, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, Vice President for Academic Affairs in Science and Technology, together with executives, faculty members, and staff from the Futuristic Science Research Center and the College of Graduate Studies at Walailak University, welcomed a delegation of eight faculty members from the Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Malai Taweechotipatr, Associate Dean for Research. The delegation visited Walailak University to exchange knowledge and discuss academic collaboration in research and graduate education management. The welcoming session was held at the Khao Luang Chamber, Cooperative Education Building, Walailak University.

The visit aimed to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen collaboration in research and graduate program administration in response to evolving public health challenges and the growing demand for medical innovation. Walailak University was recognized for its strong research capabilities and effective management of graduate education.

During the session, Associate Professor Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, who also serves as Acting Dean of the School of Science, delivered a presentation on Research Management at the Futuristic Science Research Center. She shared the university’s research management model and research-track faculty system designed to drive frontier and high-impact research. Joining the discussion were Dr. Sakda Jampasa, Acting Head of the Futuristic Science Research Center, and Dr. Thiranut Jaroonwitchawan, lecturer at the School of Science, who also exchanged experiences and perspectives with the visiting delegation. 

Assistant Professor Dr. Wachiraporn Poungjinda, Assistant Dean for International Affairs at the College of Graduate Studies, later presented on Graduate Education Management at Walailak University. Faculty members from both institutions discussed approaches to curriculum management and support systems for master’s and doctoral students, both within the School of Science and at the university-wide level.

The delegation also toured scientific laboratories at the Scientific and Technological Equipment Building as well as research laboratories at the Research Institute for Health Sciences to learn about laboratory services and research equipment support available for faculty members and students. The visit was hosted by Assistant Professor Dr. Phuwadol Bangrak, Director of the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, and his team, who guided the delegation through the facilities.

The meeting marked an important step in strengthening academic networks between the two institutions and is expected to lead to further advancement in research, medical science innovation, and sustainable graduate education development for the benefit of society.
