Walailak University's School of Nursing, in partnership with nine academic institutions and three nursing associations, hosted the 5th National Conference on Clinical Reasoning, Nursing Research and Nursing Innovation on 11 July 2026, drawing more than 1,200 participants from 20 nursing institutions and seven network hospitals across the country.

Associate Professor Dr. Sarawoot Palipoch, Vice President for Academic Affairs in Health Sciences at Walailak University, presided over the opening ceremony at the university's Main Auditorium, Thaiburi Building, joined by deans, administrators, faculty members, and students from nursing institutions nationwide.

The conference aimed to foster academic exchange, research, and innovation in nursing through clinical reasoning, supporting the development of creative thinking that nursing professionals can apply to advance the profession.

"Clinical reasoning is the foundation of Thailand's healthcare system," said Dr. Sarawut. "It allows medical personnel to make accurate decisions in both diagnosis and care planning, ensuring quality outcomes that effectively meet the needs of the public."

Conference activities included presentations on advanced clinical-reasoning concept maps in nursing, nursing research and innovation projects, case studies and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, undergraduate research presentations, clinical-reasoning analysis concept maps, quiz competitions in pathophysiology, anatomy and nursing.

Assistant Professor Dr. Orapen Sukhavulli, Dean of the School of Nursing, said the conference offered a valuable opportunity for nursing faculty and students from across the country to come together, exchange knowledge and experience, and build collaborative networks to strengthen the capacity of future nursing professionals who will become a key force in Thailand's healthcare system.
