James Cook University, Australia, explored academic collaborations with Walailak University



On 14 June 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice-President for Global Engagement and Academic Affairs gave a welcome to Dr. Nigel Chang, professor in Archeology and Ms. Raechel Oleszek, a Master's student from College of Arts & Society and Education, James Cook University, Australia, at Mokhalan Meeting Room, 2nd Fl. Admin. Bldg. Also present at the meeting were Asst. Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayuthaya, Director for the Center of Intenational Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nibondh Tipsrinimit, Dean, School of Liberal Arts, Asst.Prof.Dr.Peerasak Suttiyotin, D.V.M., Acting Dean, Princess Chulabhorn Veterinary College, Dr. Rattapan Pattanarangsan, D.V.M., Director of WU Small Animal Hospital and faculty members from these three schools and Political Science and Laws. Deans and representatives of the three fields presened their academic strenghs and possibilities of collaborations with JCU. Dr. Nigel Chang is a key person who is willing to connect academic linkage between James Cook University (JCU) and Walailak University (WU). Dr. Nigel's visit was a preliminary step to explore tangible collaborative activities and MOU signing. The two parties came up with some feasible issues such as joint conferences, student and staff mobility, clinical practice in veterinary etc. Details of each collaborative activity need further personal discussion.
