Walailak University Hospital Has Opened a COVID-19 Patient Ward Accommodating 150 Beds

   

    Walailak Hospital has opened a COVID-19 Ward for COVID-19 patients, with capacity to accommodate 150 beds in preparation for an increase of cases.


    Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomsak Saengow, Acting Director of Walailak Hospital, mentioned that even though the hospital had started admitting inpatients since 24 January, 2022, the COVID-19 service was limited to only three groups of service users including, Walailak University students, Walailak University staff holding a Green status and a few other Home isolation patients. However, after a completion of the fifth floor in Building B and C, Walailak Hospital has expanded its medical service to COVID-19 inpatients.

   Asst. Prof. Kamlai Somrak, Acting-Deputy Director of the Nursing Department, Walailak University hospital, further explained that the COVID-19 patient ward welcomes all with all types of medical benefits. People can access the service 24 hours. Those running a high risk may access the service at the screening point at G floor available on weekdays from 8.00 am. to 4.00 pm. and weekends from 8.00 am. to 12 am. However, those exhibiting severe symptoms including heavy breathing and high fever can access the service 24 hours at the Emergency Room. We also have an ICU ward to care for patients with critical conditions. If further information is needed, please call 0 7547 9999.
