Executive Team from GIZ Cambodia visiting Walailak University: Enhance Learning of Health System and Health Science Teaching 


   

     Walailak University represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod welcomed the executive team of 16 members from German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Cambodia. The purpose of this official visit is to acquire knowledge on health system and health science teaching especially medical technology and medical education, teaching and learning, professional development of teaching staff, advanced teaching and learning technologies, laboratories, teaching quality development in line with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), cooperative education, and community health development. In addition, the management team also learned and exchanged experiences on the hospital system from Walailak University Hospital and Sichon Hospital, Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province Between 27 June – 1 July 2022


    On 27 June 2022, the executives visited in an official capacity of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Cambodia from Cambodia's key agencies named Health Science Institute of Royal Cambodia Arm Forces (HSI-RCAF), Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital (KSFH), which is in the process of advancing the country's health system and upgrading the Social Protection and Health Project (ISH) of Cambodia. To promote the people’s good health and well-being. To serve such purpose, Asst. Prof. Dr. HING Kong, Head of Faculty and Deputy Director of Health Science Institute of Royal Cambodia Arm Forces (HSI-RCAF), has chosen Walailak University as a place for study visits and forge cooperation with the faculty, given Walailak University’s reputation in academic potential and statistics suggesting a huge jump of progress. 


    On this occasion, Dr. HING Kong expressed his gratitude to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, for granting the delegation permission to visit. 


    The five-day study visit was organized by the School of Allied Health Sciences led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jitbanjong Tangpong, Dean of the School of Allied Health Science, joined by different departments of Walailak University to share knowledge and experience, including the School of Medicine, Walailak University Hospital, Center for Innovative Learning and Teaching, The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Center for International Affairs, WBP Walailak Botanic Park, and Sichon Hospital.
