Walailak University Signs MOA with 5 Universities Abroad to Develop Research in Quartile 1 and Exchange Students



Associate Professor Dr. Poonpong Boonbrahm, Acting Vice Dean of the School of Informatics, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Research Collaboration on behalf of the President of Walailak University. The MOA focuses on the topic of 'Platforms and Cultural Production in Asia', which involves collaboration with five universities from five countries:

1. University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, ranked 60th in Time Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
2. UNTAG Surabaya, Indonesia.
3. Xavier University, Philippines.
4. TAR UMT, Malaysia.
5. Walailak University, Thailand.

The signing ceremony took place on February 21st, 2023, at UNTAG Surabaya in Indonesia, and was honored by the presence of the President of UNTAG Surabaya. The purpose of this collaboration is to develop and publish research in Scopus-indexed international academic journals in quartile 1 of at least four joint research.
     
Additionally, Dean Poonpong; Dr. Attanan Tachopisalwong, Acting Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development; and Dr. Yuttana Jaroenruen, Head of the Informatics Innovation Center of Excellence, attended a meeting with the international affairs executives and a management team from the Faculty of Informatics Engineering of UNTAG Surabaya to establish cooperation in research, lecturer and student mobility, and cooperative education. UNTAG Surabaya can accommodate at least 20 students per year from across seven schools of Walailak University for the cooperative education.
