Walailak University holding a press release for the upcoming 11th Academic Conference and Exhibition," Thailand’s Resources: 30 Years, RSPG for Prosperity of the Public"

    

    the Royal Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG) together with Walailak University and Nakhon Si Thammarat Province organizes a press release for the 11th academic conference and exhibition, “Thailand’s Resources: 30 Years, RSPG for Prosperity of the Public” On this occasion, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, along with Mr. Trairat Chairat, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province jointly announced the readiness to organize the event with Professor Dr. Thawatchai Supadit, Director of the Coordinating Center, RSPG-WU. Witnessing the event were distinguished guests, the university's administrators, and the media at the WU Reservoir Courtyard, WU Botanic Park, Walailak University on 8th September 2022. 


    Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong said that Walailak University has been granted royal permission to be a co-host with the Royal Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG) of the 11th academic conference and exhibition, “Thailand’s Resources: 30 Years, RSPG for Prosperity of the Public” between 19 and 24 September 2022 to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who carried on the royal wish to the conserve the country's resources.


    The project also aims at presenting to the youths, the public, academics, the private sectors, and policymakers the diversity of Thai resources’ potential and giving them opportunities to learn the nature of life, reliance and relationships, conservation, development, and sustainable use of resources, which contributes to the prosperity of the public. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be presiding over the opening ceremony on 19th September 2022 at Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province


     The 11th academic conference and exhibition, “Thailand’s Resources: 30 Years, RSPG for the prosperity of the public” features the exhibition “RSPG - WU” at Walailak Square, exhibitions of the school botanic parks at the parking lot of Lecture Building 1 and Lecture Building 3, the exhibition on the local resources at the parking lot of Lecture building 5 and Lecture Building 7, exhibitions of 127 Royal Initiative agencies across the country at the parking lot of the Architecture and Design Building, academic conference, school botanic garden academic conferences, academic conferences on local resource base, academic conferences of the working group of RSPG: 30 Years, RSPG for the prosperity of the public. 


    In addition, the event includes a southern folk-art performance, performances of the School Botanic Garden, exhibition booths of food and local products as well as the southern local product fair and singing performances, and famous actors. The event is expecting 5,000 participants daily from the Royal Initiative from all regions and government agencies in all sectors of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province including the general public. 

 


    Mr. Trairat Chairat reiterated the province’s readiness that Nakhon Si Thammarat is ready to be in service of the Royal Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG) in order for all sectors in the province to understand and recognize the importance of plant genetics and resources. This is for all to cooperate in thinking and taking action for the benefit of Nakhon Si Thammarat. 


   “I would like to thank Walailak University, the coordinating center of RSPG, for driving and supporting the implementation of the RSPG project for educational institutions regarding the school botanical garden, and local government organizations in local resource base works. For example, Yothinbamrung School fulfilled the royal initiative in the school botanical garden by raising awareness of resource conservation by allowing the youths to be close to plants and appreciate the values of learning so that they were instilled the morals the philosophy of sufficiency economy,” said Mr. Trairat. 


    Mr. Trairat added, "On behalf of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, we are pleased to cooperate with Walailak University to host this academic conference and would like to be a good host to welcome government agencies and departments across the country to join the conferences and the 11th academic conference and exhibition, “Thailand’s Resources: 30 Years, RSPG for the prosperity of the public”. I would also like to invite public relations from all sectors to participate in the event so that children and youths, the public, as well as government agencies and the private sector are aware of the value and importance of conservation of Thailand’s resources."
