The School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry Organized an Academic Service Activity Integrated with Teaching and Learning, Providing Hands-on Training in Swine Health Management and Farm Management.

On June 27, 2024, the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, led by Dr. Krittika Kabploy, in collaboration with the Center for Academic Services, organized an academic service activity integrated with teaching and learning related to swine production. The activity was conducted as part of the courses AGI67-334 Feed and Feeding in Swine, AGI67-335 Diseases and Prevention in Swine, and AGI67-336 Innovation of Swine Farm Management. Students were given hands-on training in swine health management and farm management with a focus on the Integrated Swine Farming Community Enterprise at Satit Walailak Pattana Community. The project provides free access to university facilities such as vaccine and technology for local farmers to improve sustainable farming practices; activities included vaccinating and administering iron injections to newborn piglets, helping students develop practical skills by working directly on real farms. The goal was to enable students to learn through real-life experiences alongside faculty members and the community.

The swine farms of the Integrated Swine Farming Community Enterprise at Satit Walailak Pattana Community served as the learning and practical training sites for swine health management and farm management. Additionally, the program included academic service activities aimed at sharing and exchanging knowledge and technologies in swine farming with local farmers in the community. The School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry aims to transfer knowledge to the community through teaching activities to produce well-trained graduates who are prepared for the workforce after graduation. Furthermore, the initiative supports and disseminates academic knowledge in swine farming to ensure the sustainability of the community's livelihoods, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 17, bringing these benefits to the communities surrounding the university.
