The School of Allied Health Sciences, Walailak University, successfully hosted the 4th School of Allied Health Sciences International Conference (SAHIC 2025) on March 26, 2025, under the theme “Innovations and Integrations: Shaping the Future of Global Allied Health Sciences.” Held virtually, the conference welcomed professors, researchers, and students from eight countries—Turkey, Japan, China, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Thailand. The event aimed to foster innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international engagement within the allied health sciences community.
Associate Professor Dr. Voravuth Somsak, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, emphasized that the conference served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and academic cooperation, particularly among medical technologists and physical therapists. He noted that cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential for advancing healthcare services and driving impactful innovation.
The conference featured a diverse panel of distinguished speakers who shared cutting-edge research and practical insights. Prof. Dr. Nazim Sekeroglu from Gaziantep University, Türkiye, discussed the application of medicinal plants in the development of health products. Prof. Liu Yao introduced a non-invasive approach to treating spasticity using low-intensity focused ultrasound. Dr. Narcisse MS Joseph from Universiti Putra Malaysia explored the diagnostic potential of outer membrane proteins in leptospirosis. Sr. Asst. Prof. Dr. Hjh Fazean Irdayati Hj Idris from Universiti Brunei Darussalam examined the correlation between medical school admission scores and academic performance. Dr. Shinji Nemoto from Showa University, Japan, shared findings on muscle oxygenation and its role in enhancing exercise tolerance.
The academic sessions of SAHIC 2025 were further enriched by 14 oral presentations delivered by students and researchers from leading institutions across Asia, including Kyoto Tachibana University, Chang Gung University, Walailak University, and Vietnam National University. These presentations spanned a broad range of timely topics—such as virology, neurorehabilitation, cervical cancer screening, natural compound discovery, neonatal care, and mitochondrial DNA variation in diabetes. This diversity of research highlights the conference’s commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and regional collaboration in advancing allied health sciences. By offering a platform for emerging scholars to showcase their work, SAHIC 2025 not only facilitated academic exchange but also inspired future innovation and strengthened international networks in health science research.
