Prof. Dr. Sombat said that Bai Sri Sukwan is a tradition that Thai people passed down from generation to generation. The Welcome Ceremony symbolizes a formal opening of the gate for new “WU family members”. Walailak University will strive to fulfill its promise to cultivate students’ knowledge and abilities to join the national workforce as a qualified graduate. Walailak University has just been officially back on site after extended virtual class in response to the pandemic was lifted. The university, in its 20 admission history, is welcoming 3,880 incoming students, far exceeding the goal set at 2,736 offers, to its residential campus. To ensure campus safety and convenience, on-site preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 is instituted.

“under the thoroughly designed measures and mechanisms to closely supervise students, faculties and staff must receive at least three doses of the coronavirus vaccine, while students need to have at least two doses and keep masks on in the classroom. Besides, the screening and disinfection process is periodically carried out. In the case of infection, Walailak university hospital is ready to provide full supports,” said Prof. Dr. Sombat.
