At the beginning of April 2024, Asst. Prof. Jiraphat Nawarat from the School of Allied Health Sciences, and Ms. Piriya Chonsut from the School of Medicine, along with the WU Clinic Technology and the Center for Academic Services team, collaborated with the Kuan Mai Bong Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital, Kuan Mai Bong House of Priest, Provincial Level Royal Initiative Project Learning Center, and the community leaders of Wang Ang Subdistrict (SDG17). They organized activities to transfer technology and provide consultations on "Non-communicable Disease Prevention and Care for Agricultural Farmers" (promoting ergonomics knowledge for preliminary health assessment) and "Local Herb Utilization for Non-communicable Disease Prevention and Promotion" (health and beauty massage using local herbs in the Wang Ang community, and developing local herbs into health food and beverage products). These activities were conducted for community leaders, representatives of agricultural farmers, and village health volunteer leaders. Then, the follow-up evaluation activity will be conducted. This activity is part of a project series of consultations and solutions services for occupational technology issues, supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Additionally, Walailak University aligned these activities with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG3, which ensures healthy lives and promotes well-being for all at all ages, particularly by reducing deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and pollution of air, water, and soil, enhancing capabilities, especially in developing countries, regarding early warning, risk reduction, and health risk management. Furthermore, it was in line with SDG17 "Partnerships for the Goals" fostering collaboration with networks and relevant organizations. The Center for Academic Services expressed gratitude to The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, for supporting health equipment and to the faculty, community representatives, and local organizations for their excellent cooperation in these activities.
