On 25 January 2018, Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayuthaya, Director of the Center for International Affairs, Walailak University welcomed 20 delegates from Information Technology Center, Universiti Utara Malaysia or UUMIT. During the welcoming session, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University came in to greet the visitors and expressed his warm welcome to them. The visiting group was very delighted by an unexpected appearance of the President.

The objectives of UUMIT's visit were to improve the quality of their IT services by exploring new initiatives in other universities and understand how the learning and teaching facilities are being managed in Walailak University.

After the group had been briefly introduced an overview of Walailak University, they visited the Center for Digital Technology. Dr. Attaso Khamwichit, Acting Director of the Center and his willing team gave a warm welcome and brief introduction about WU IT Services, internet and network system, WIFI, and email etc. Dr. Attaso also took them around the center. The two parties are happy to exchange and learn from each other.
