Walailak University Celebrates Its 32nd Anniversary.

Walailak University (WU) held an event to celebrate its 32nd anniversary, featuring offerings of food to Buddhist monks, prayers from imams seeking blessings from God, and Christian prayers.

At 7:00 AM today, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of WU, and Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri, President of the WU Council, led the ceremony to offer food to 30 Buddhist monks. They also participated in offering blessings upon Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an, the Founding President who made significant contributions to WU, as well as to faculty members, staff, and students who have passed away. Additionally, imams sought blessings from God, and Christian prayers were offered.

The event took place at Plern Ta Square, Thai Buri Building, with honorable guests from Tha Sala District and Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, along with university executives, staff, and students of WU in attendance.

At 9:00 AM, in the auditorium of the Thai Buri Building, a ceremony was held to receive royal endorsement for the appointment of Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri as the President of the WU Council. Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong read the announcement from the Prime Minister's Office regarding Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri's appointment. Subsequently, Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri paid respect to the royal portrait of His Majesty the King and presented a ceremonial tray of flowers to officially receive royal endorsement for his appointment.

Following this, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong delivered a welcome speech and summarized the university's achievements over the past years. Mr. Teerachai Chemnasiri extended his congratulations on the occasion of Walailak University's 32nd anniversary. This was followed by a ceremony to present royal decorations to staff, gold rings of honor to staff members with 25 years of continuous service, commemorative items to staff members with 30 years of service, and awards to distinguished alumni.
